Designed by Golf Course Architect Harold Heinlein, opened in 1932.
Not far off the beaten path from Pittsburgh, PA, Moon Golf Club offers terrific views and challenging play for golfers of every skill level. Well-groomed fairways and greens keep Moon Golf Club playable and friendly, rated as one of the best municipal golf courses in the region. Moon is a terrific choice for 'golf regulars', or a new destination to check out when visiting the Pittsburgh area.
Measuring 5805 yards from the Back Tees, Moon Golf Club was purchased by Moon Township in the fall of 2005. This was in part made possible by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources. The township then formed the Moon Township Recreation Authority, leasing the property to the MTRA for a period of 50 years. The course rating is 68.5 with a slope of 117, and the golf course is known for "a course layout you can comfortably play every day".
